In accordance with the provisions of the Pension Act, the Board of the Maldives Pension Administration Office has appointed Mr. Yazmeed Mohamed as Chief Executive Officer of the Pension Office for a five-year term commencing on the 23rd of August 2026.

Mr. Yazmeed is an accomplished finance, governance, and public sector professional with more than two decades of leadership experience across public sector oversight, governance, auditing, anti-corruption, financial management, strategic management, and investment.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Yazmeed has held several senior executive and leadership positions, including Vice-President of the Judicial Service Commission, Commissioner at the Anti-Corruption Commission, and Audit Manager at the Auditor General’s Office.

Mr. Yazmeed is a Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Open University Malaysia and a First-Class Honours Degree in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

The Pension Office Board and staff congratulate Mr. Yazmeed, and envisions enhanced organisational effectiveness and institutional governance under his leadership, as the Pension Office continues its commitment to the development of a strong and sustainable pension system for the Maldives.

The Pension Office is an independent statutory body established under the Maldives Pension Act (Act No. 8/2009) to administer and oversee the country’s pension schemes. Its primary responsibilities include providing Retirement Pension and Old-Age Basic Pension, establishing relevant regulations, and ensuring sustainable social protection to support a dignified retirement.
