Mr. Yazmeed Mohamed has officially assumed office as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Maldives Pension Administration Office.

Staff from across the institution gathered at the Pension Office for a welcome ceremony to mark the occasion. Speaking following his appointment, Mr. Yazmeed outlined his priorities as CEO.

He affirmed that the pension fund would be managed and safeguarded securely and sustainably, and that the affairs of the Pension Office would be organised accordingly. He pledged to make the Pension Office an institution fully trusted by the public, one that is modern, robust, productive, and exemplary.

Recognising that employees play the greatest role in achieving this, he committed to ensuring staff are never made to feel discouraged, to establishing equality among employees, to providing fair opportunities for all staff, and to fostering a workplace where employees work together happily as a united and friendly team.

In turn, he called on staff to commit to their work with sincerity and honesty, and to work together as a team to deliver results.

The Pension Office is an independent statutory body established under the Maldives Pension Act (Act No. 8/2009) to administer and oversee the country’s pension schemes. Its primary responsibilities include providing Retirement Pension and Old-Age Basic Pension, establishing relevant regulations, and ensuring sustainable social protection to support a dignified retirement.
