Pension Office conducted the fourth session of its Doughnuts and Finance programme for 2026 at Hanimaadhoo School, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen financial literacy among young people across the Maldives.

The interactive session brought together over 40 students of Hanimaadhoo School, introducing them to practical financial knowledge and the importance of developing healthy financial habits from an early age.

The session focused on the fundamentals of financial literacy, exploring practical approaches to managing money, saving and planning for the future. Students were encouraged to think about their everyday financial decisions, understand the importance of managing their finances responsibly and recognise how small financial habits can contribute to their long-term financial wellbeing.

Designed to make financial literacy more accessible and engaging for young audiences, Doughnuts and Finance combines interactive learning and informal discussions in a relaxed setting, creating opportunities for students to explore basic financial concepts. The session also included doughnuts for participants, adding a fun and informal element to the learning experience.

Strengthening financial literacy among young people remains a key priority for the Pension Office. Through initiatives such as Doughnuts and Finance, Pension Office aims to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions, build healthy financial habits and begin planning for their financial future.

The programme forms part of Pension Office's broader financial literacy and public awareness efforts, which seek to reach different age groups and communities across the Maldives and promote greater financial preparedness throughout different life stages.
