Pension Office conducted an information session on the Maldives Pension System for employees working in B. Eydhafushi on 2 September 2026, as part of its ongoing nationwide effort to raise awareness of the pension system among the Maldivian workforce.

The session focused on providing participants with key information on the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme (MRPS) and the broader Maldives Pension System, including how contributions are made, how retirement savings accumulate over an individual's working life, and the role the scheme plays in ensuring financial security after retirement.

Over 60 employees representing various institutions in Eydhafushi participated in the session, reflecting strong interest among the island's workforce in understanding their pension entitlements and long-term retirement planning.

The session forms part of the Pension Office's continued efforts to conduct outreach and awareness programmes across the Maldives, including in the outer atolls, to ensure that employees regardless of their location have clear and accurate information about the pension schemes established under the Pension Act, and the benefits available to them as contributing members.

The Pension Office remains committed to strengthening public understanding of the pension system nationwide and will continue to conduct similar sessions in other islands and atolls as part of its broader public awareness strategy.
