This Privacy Policy applies to the Website and Mobile Application (“Services”) operated by the Maldives Pension Administration Office (“Pension Office”).

It is a priority of the Pension Office to ensure confidentiality and protection of user identifiable data (“Personal Data”). Accordingly, this Privacy Policy outlines how the Pension Office collects, uses, protects or otherwise handles Personal Data of users in connection with the Services.

For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, “Website” is referred to as the website found on the link www.pension.gov.mv and “Mobile Application” bearing the Google Play Store ID: mv.gov.pension.app and Apple App Store ID: “id1003636891”.

Collection of Information

In order to provide the Services efficiently and productively, the Pension Office collects various types of Personal Data through the Website and Mobile Application. Information is collected in the following ways:

    The users are not obligated to provide any Personal Data and can view or use limited Services without providing any such data. However, the Pension Office will not bear any responsibility to provide complete Services wherein users fail to provide required Personal Data. Services are not aimed at minors below the age of 16, accordingly Pension Office does not intentionally collect Personal Data of minors.

  2. Information Collected from Third Parties

    In order to compare and validate Personal Data provided by users, the Pension Office reserves the right to share and collect various information from third parties at its sole discretion. These include but are not limited to Personal Data validation from various governmental departments and telecommunication companies.

  3. Information Collected Automatically

  4. Log Data

    Log Data may include information such as Internet Protocol address, browser version, visited pages, time and date of the visit, time spent on pages, and other such statistics.

  5. Cookies

    Cookies are files with a small amount of data that is commonly used as an anonymous unique identifier sent to the browser of users. The users have the option to either accept or refuse cookies. Refusal of cookies, may limit use of Services.

Use of Collected Information

The Pension Office will only use collected Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy to provide the Services, update data lists, analyze and validate data, provide support services, improve user experience, or perform other tasks incidentally to provide the Services. Further, the Pension Office may transfer Personal Data within various servers of the Pension office as required.

Personal Data provided by users which are not published on the Services, may be shared with third parties with the consent of users. Pension Office will demand from such third parties to ensure the confidentiality of shared Personal Data.However, Pension Office shall not be liable for any breach of confidentiality due to acts, omissions or negligence of such third parties.

Pension Office will not release any Personal Data in a manner contravening this Privacy Policy, unless it is required to do so under applicable laws of the Republic of Maldives.

Protection of Collected Information

The Pension Office has installed reasonable organizational, technical and administrative mechanisms for preventing unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of stored Personal Data. At all times, the Pension Office will strive reasonably to protect and ensure the security of confidential Personal Data.

Personal Data which are published on the Services as per applicable laws and regulations will not be confidential and the Pension Office will have no obligation to protect such published data. Furthermore, unsolicited information provided by the users through various channels including the Services will not be treated as confidential information.

Additionally, the Pension Office shall not bear any responsibility towards breach of Personal Data due to actions beyond the reasonable control of Pension Office.

In addition, the Pension Office does not bear any confidentiality obligation towards the use of third party links provided in the Services.

Amendment of the Privacy Policy

The Pension Office reserves the right to amend, revise, update, modify, add or remove any provisions of this Privacy Policy at any time without further notice, in a manner which is not contradictory with the essence of protecting and maintaining confidentiality.

Additionally, the Pension Office shall publicly list or inform the users of any changes to this Privacy Policy.
